“Revivification of the Culture of Iqra”

Assalamu’alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

I begin this message with very well wishes of happy New Year 2019 to everyone.

The year of 2018 is coming to an end, and the bell of the New Year is going to ring. It seems as if time goes by faster and faster as we get on in years. In this very challenging times, I must say that this is the right time for us to rethink and restrategise as how best to achieve and meet our vision, mission, aim and objectives.

I wish to see that 2019 will be the year we witness the revivification of culture of Iqra in our society.

Culture of Iqra creates powerful civilisation. As Malik Bennabi said “Muslim civilisation’s accent was not because of the challenge of a geographical or climatic factor as suggested in Toynbee’s theory or the dual factors of economics and means of production in the theory of Marx. Instead, it was born at the instant the spirit descended in ghar hira”.

Revivification of the culture of Iqra will truly represent the spirit of genuine change and reform. Culture of Iqra creates reading nation and learning society that have holistic abilities of reading, comprehension and practice.

Culture of Iqra is the foundation for reform and renewal. It infuses knowledge, virtues, human values and wisdom. It presents a dual worldview, both the world and the hereafter.

Culture of Iqra nurtures holistic and righteous man.

Wishing everyone a very happy new year and together we revive the culture of Iqra in the year ahead.
